The angel spoke; and he said to the women,
'Do not be afraid!
I know you are seeking Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would...'
Filled with awe and great joy, the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell the disciples. |
Jesus said, 'Mary!' She knew him then and said to him
in Hebrew, 'Rabbuni!'- which means Master. Jesus said to her,
'Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father.
But go and find the brothers, and tell them: I am ascending to
my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'

A week later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was
with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among
them. 'Peace be with you,' he said. Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put
your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it
into my side. Doubt no longer but believe.' Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him: 'You believe because you can see me. Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.' |
| Christ is risen! |
